On September 19, 2008, more than 20 schools within the Greater Essex County District School Board in Windsor and Essex County planted Pinwheels for Peace in and around their schools to recognize the UN&#8217;s International Day of Peace (September 21).

<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Peace Tree Day</strong>, inspired by the award-winning film, The Peace Tree, by Mitra Sen, is an international festival that inspires children and adults to take pride in their heritage and to share it with others, while also discovering the vibrant cultures, traditions and festivals around the world.</p>
